Can you believe it’s been 7 years since Area561 first launched?
Now a new branch of Area561 is born, Your.Area561.com – and it is exactly that, a place for you to learn, help, teach, improve, and give back to the life we are so fortunate to live here in So. Fla.
We have created this platform with several main concepts in mind:
- strengthen the local surf community
- respect for the ocean
- respect and support for one another
- buy/sell surf gear locally
- share tips and local information
………among other things. It’s limitless.
“We envision a platform that combines what 2nd Light has with their forum, what magic seaweed has with local photos and videos, what craigslist has buying and selling surf gear, and what surfine has with news and info on a local scale.”
How to use this site.
Your.Area561 (your.area561.com) has the following pages:
- Home
- Activity
- Forums
- Members
- Groups
- Surf Report
The Activity page is similar to the Wall on Facebook, where all member/forum/group updates are listed in real time.
The Forums page is has six sections: Surfing, For Sale, Big Shots, Fishing, N S R, & Surf History. The section are in place for ease of use and searching. Create a New topic within the sections provided by clicking on ‘new topic’ withing a forum section.
The Members page lists all site users and can be organized by recently active, new users, and alphabetically.
The Groups page list the site groups. Users in a certain circle of friends can create a Group and can set user permissions for their Group.
Surf report takes you back to Area561.com surf report page.
